Design Wall Monday - 01/31/11

On my design wall for this week are the Texas Braid's from Bonnie Hunter's class Saturdy with Lafayette Guild.  I had a great time in the class with mom and her friend Pam.   I have a total of 6 braids (2 were mom's since she is planning on redoing it in black/red/grey scraps from my sons quilt) and only need to complete 4 or 5 more.  I am not making the king version like Bonnies but one that would fit on a full/twin bed.   Lol now that I took class i want to finish it and the other scrappy quilt I was working on has been put to side and I wonder why I have so many UFO's.

I finished quilting the seashell panto on my mom's friends quilt and the custom quilting on mom's palmetto quilt.  This is the 4th and 5th quilts I have quilted on the frame. I still have room for alot of improvement and learning but I am so happy with the way they are coming out and with each one I do I am getting better at it and more comfortable with it.  For the seashell quilt I have this same quilt top from the same class and can't wait to get it quilted.  I have loaded the next quilt on the frame which is also for another one on mom's friends.  I wasn't a fan of blue and yellow quilts but after I started quilting it with the variagated blue and yellow thread and panto I chose I am thinking of making one myself.  Well another busy week ahead of quilting since I need to have this one finished this week.  An hour here and an hour there add up and hopefully will be enough to get it done on time.
