Palmetto

Do Palmetto have veins in their leaves?  I don't know if they do but out here in BFE they do.....lol.  I am working on mom's top that I believe one day will belong to my sister.  It took a while to get it together.  I had just got comfortable using a certain type of thread on the machine but my mom had showed me a magazine that had the same wt thread I thought and same type but it was a lil cheaper so I decided to order some and give it a try.  Well it wasn't going well at first.  Relatively new to all of this its all learned by trial and error but finally after some research and back and forth with mom I found my problem.  Change of the needle size and voila no more thread breaking and progress started happening.  I have two of the 20 palmettos quilted. I have veins in the leaves and an outline stitch around them.  I have microstippled the background and this is giving my eyes some trouble because my thread is same color as background and poor lighting so its tricky seeing where i have been.  I will have to have my h
ubby install some lights over the machine to help with that. That might be all I get
done till next week since we are leaving tonight to drive a 16 hour drive straight thru to pick up our Marine at his base in North Carolina to spend the weekend up there.  I am told its really cold up there compared to our weather in Lousiana.  We don't have thick winter coats but we have packed enough clothes to put on layers and layers.  Well see you on Monday.  After while crocidiles.
