DESIGN WALL MONDAY - 10/18/10
So still not much sewing happened this week. Between work and the kids and life, not much time for sewing. My youngest boy started basketball and with 3 games a week that takes most of the evening time when I usually do my sewing. Next month will be even worse because my step son will be starting high school basketball so between the two I won't have a weekday to spare. But I so enjoy watching both of them play so I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
With the 5 minutes I had here and there, I did work some more on the dresden I took from my mom, I don't think that it will be a wall hanging anymore as it is growing to more closer in size to a lap quilt. It keeps talking to me so who knows what will happen with it. Yesterday after I figured out that I had the midarm mom gave me threaded wrong I rethreaded it and started quilting a top Sunday (well more like playing on the top) I had made from scraps. I am still learning and since I have only quilted myself 1 quilt and 1 wall hanging with my regular machine I have alot to learn and still have to learn how to get the tension correct so the quilting is perfect. But i am a determined woman and I will persevere.......lol

Don't you love those quilts that just talk to you? LOL
ReplyDeleteNow I wonder who will believe that you won't have time to quilt--not me! You make time for the things you love to do...it might be 5minutes here or 5 minutes there.
ReplyDeleteYour boy is cute in his uniform. I remember those days well.
ReplyDeleteYou might try some hand piecing since you're attending a lot of games :)
Way to go! Perseverance is 50% of success with machine quilting!
